Warmth

It was really cold today in Cache Valley. It was also really stormy. I'm not sure I'm used to this only 2 seasons a year thing. I miss spring.

We pulled into the church parking lot and it was rainy and windy and C.O.L.D. I opened the van door and told the kids to hurry into the church because it was freezing! Ella looked at me as I was unbuckling her seatbelt and said,

"Jesus will keep us warm."

What a profound statement from a 2 year old. She is right, His warmth is as the sunshine at midday. All that we are—all that we will ever be—we owe to Him. While we gaze in awe at His majesty, He does not ask us to stay our distance but bids us to come unto Him. “I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him” (Revelation 3:20).

He will keep us warm.

She reminded me of the words of President Monson a couple of weeks ago:

"I testify to you that our promised blessings are beyond measure. Though the storm clouds may gather, though the rains may pour down upon us, our knowledge of the gospel and our love of our Heavenly Father and of our Savior will comfort and sustain us and bring joy to our hearts as we walk uprightly and keep the commandments. There will be nothing in this world that can defeat us."

Jesus will keep us warm!

And because I'm on one tonight. Here's my most recent favorite song. In fact Brandon bought me this CD as my Valentine this year.
