Never a dull moment

We've been pretty busy here in Cache Valley.

When we moved in the grass was completely yellow with giant weeds all over. Most were 12 - 24 inches tall. Well we pulled all the weeds and we've managed to figure out the water pressure and I spend 3 hours every day dragging this around. Life is good though, look how green the grass is getting!

Before we moved in we told the kids there was a "secret playground." Secret because it's behind some GIANT lilac bushes and it was hidden in giant grass and the bushes were growing into it. The other night we trimmed and cut and trimmed some more and look it's usable!

This my friends is NOT for the faint of heart. We discovered yesterday we have a serious mouse problem. We lost some food storage in the basement (I should have figured. This is the country) and had all our sponges and paper towels under the sink eaten. Under the sink we put out this special number Brandon calls, "Peanut Butter Surprise." So far we are two for two under the kitchen sink.

Brandon spent the entire day yesterday down in the basement with a mask and gloves sweeping mouse poop and putting out traps. It looks like we just moved in again with boxes everywhere upstairs because I don't dare leave a lot of stuff down there until I can get it in plastic storage containers.

Country life is rewarding though! Just look at these:

Praying this family has a happy ending

I've been following this story since it happened. This beautiful couple was in a firey plane crash in August. Christian the husband was burned over 30% of his body and his sweet wife Stephanie was burned over 80%. They have 4 children, who all happen to be in Provo now living with family, and they are amazing. For more info and to read their blogs click the buttons below.

Here is a site dedicated to their recovery. For lots more info click on the benefit blog link inside the site. You can get direct links to all the news stories there.

A trip to the fire station!

Wednesday is cub scouts here in Petersboro. Everyone takes the school bus to the church and meets right after school. Then they break off into their individual dens. This week was special! First, it was Christian's last time to meet with the Wolf Den. Next time they meet after Pack Meeting he will be a Bear! Second, it was a field trip for both the Wolves and the Bears to the Logan City Fire Station. AND!!! They let Parker, Ella and I come!
Listening outside to Brother Shock. Who happens to be in our ward. He had the scary experience of responding to his own brand new 2 week home on fire earlier this year. Sadly they lost everything. :(
Who Me?
Ella thoroughly checked out the trucks and had black hands to prove it.
Spraying the fire hose!
Getting sprayed bythe fire hose!
Look how fast he goes!

Happy Birthday Ella!

Ella's birthday was on Sept 5th. She turned 2! I swear she was just born yesterday. She's getting to be such a big girl! She weighs 31 lbs and is 37 inches tall. She's off the charts!

She LOVES her Minnie Cake! Thank you Grandma Joyce!

SOOO many presents!
Blow out the candles!
I DID IT!

Happy 11 year anniversary to the Parish's!

On September 4th we celebrated 11 years of marriage! Where has the time gone?

Since the last couple of years we haven't been able to do anything due to having Parker's head stapled shut and giving birth to Ella we decided to splurge and do something fun together. The kids got to stay with Grandma and Grandpa (thank you mom!) and Brandon and I got to go to dinner, go shopping, go for icecream *YUM*, stay the night at the Salt Lake Plaza Hotel at Temple Square (the top floor I might add), and go to breakfast together. It was so much fun! Here is the view from our room. At night it was beautiful but my camera doesn't work well at night so here's one during the day:

A while back I posted this on a message board I have been a member of for years now. It's still true today. :)

Brandon is the man of my dreams!...

and my daydreams!

I seriously dream about him most every night. He is the best husband and the best father anyone could ask for. Do you ever just look at your husband and think dang, "I love him!" Or, "Man he's hot!" I was sitting on the couch last night and he was here at the computer in a ratty old henley, lounge pants and thick cable knit socks, none of it matching, and I sat there thinking he was smoking hot. I've been completely enamored with him since we started dating seriouly 16 years ago. I LOVE him! Just had to share!

Our new home!

Well for now anyway. We now live in Petersboro. Which is a tiny town just outside Mendon in Cache Valley. Our new home is a tiny bit bigger than our house in Roy. We have a giant barn and 35 acres to run around on.

This is the beautiful yard in the spring!

Why Blog?

Well, all my friends in my online community blog. Add that to moving a few miles away from home and family and it just makes sense. Plus I am not great at journalling. I take a gazillion pictures a day of our life and I do nothing with them. I love my family. I love my children. I love my gorgeous Brandon the flight instructor. I might as well share all of that with all of you! I want to blog because I can publicly share my love for my Savior Jesus Christ and because I can invite peeps to church. Want to come?
